Sussex Wedding venue – Anne of Cleves House in Lewes

“A wedding venue fit for a Queen”

Hidden away in the quaint Southover quarter of Lewes, this medieval house is an intimate Sussex wedding venue. It offers peace, beauty and romance for up to 50 guests.

Anne of Cleves House has been providing a warm welcome to visitors for over six hundred years. First built as a guest house for those visiting the nearby Lewes Priory, it was then owned by royalty – with Henry VIII gifting the property to Anne of Cleves before a Lewes landowner turned it into a grand and happy family home.

The property oozes character with original wooden beams, large fireplaces and traditional floors giving a real taste of Tudor life. Outside, the garden is planted with herbs, shrubs and fruit trees which bask in the afternoon sunshine.
