Michelham Priory is set on its very own island in the beautiful Cuckmere Valley in East Sussex, close to the South Downs. We have two stunning locations; the beautiful Prior’s Chamber on the first floor of the Grade II listed Medieval Priory or the grand Elizabethan Great Barn.

Ceremonies and receptions for up to 130 guests take place in the grade II listed Elizabethan Barn. Just outside is the stunning Moat Terrace where the drink and canape receptions take place in view of the longest water-filled moat in England.

For more intimate occasions, the newly licensed Prior’s Chamber is the perfect location, seating up to 60 guests in a beautiful Medieval room. The chamber is complete with period furniture, stained glass windows, tapestries and a huge fireplace. Afterwards, head outside to the main lawn for a drinks reception before heading and continue your celebrations with a reception in the barn, where more guests could join you

The beautifully kept 13 acre grounds make the perfect location for photographs.

Rural Michelham Priory is perfectly situated near the market town of Hailsham between the Sussex villages of Arlington and Berwick. The Priory is easily accessible from the A27 and A22 and signposted with heritage signs.

Our passionate and dedicated team will be with you every step of the way to ensure the perfect day. We offer a tempting selection of menus with selected partners, and we are always happy to create bespoke dishes to suit your personal tastes.

What our clients say: A big thank you to everybody that helped make our wedding day at Michelham Priory an absolutely fantastic day and one we will treasure forever. The food was divine and the day ran so smoothly. Every single guest commented on how lovely your venue was and the great service and friendliness of the staff. We were both sad to leave on Sunday having spent two days at Michelham Priory. Thank you all again.
