Sussex Barn Wedding Venue - Michelham Priory

One Sussex Wedding Venue; two choices of ceremony

Michelham Priory provides two stunning locations to get married – the beautiful Prior’s Chamber inside the Grade II Listed historic house; or the grand Elizabethan Barn, which overlooks Sussex countryside.

Looking for a barn wedding venue in Sussex? For larger weddings, the grand Elizabethan Great Barn is ideal. This beautiful structure dates from the Tudor period. Ceremonies and receptions for up to 120 guests can take place in the Grade II listed building.

Just outside is the stunning Moat Terrace where the drink and canape receptions take place in view of the longest moat in England.

For more intimate occasions, the Prior’s Chamber is the perfect location, seating up to 60 guests in a beautiful Medieval room. The chamber is complete with period furniture, stained glass windows, tapestries and a huge fireplace.

Afterwards, head outside to the main lawn for a drinks reception. The barn will then be yours so you can continue your celebrations. Dance the night away under the 600-year-old wooden beams.

Whatever the season, the beautifully kept gardens make the perfect location for photographs.

Guests will love exploring the grounds or simply relaxing while sipping a glass of something cold. And if you have children attending the wedding, the playground is the perfect place to let them run off steam after the ceremony.

Rural Michelham Priory is perfectly situated near the market town of Hailsham between the Sussex villages of Arlington and Berwick. The Priory is easily accessible from the A27 and A22 and signposted with heritage signs.
