Volunteering at Fishbourne Roman Palace & Gardens
Step back in time and become part of one of Britain’s most fascinating historical sites. The Palace at Fishbourne is the largest Roman villa ever discovered in Northern Europe, offering a rare and captivating glimpse into our Romano-British past. Unearthed in the 1960s, the Palace showcases original artefacts, stunning mosaics, and formal gardens that once belonged to a grand estate – possibly even larger than Buckingham Palace.
We’re looking for volunteers to help support the work of the Palace across a wide range of roles. Whether you enjoy meeting people or prefer working behind the scenes, there’s a place for you in our team. From helping keep our gardens shipshape, enhancing the visitor experience, and supporting school visits, to assisting with events, caring for our buildings, or admin – there are opportunities to suit all interests and skills.
Whatever time you can give, your contribution will make a real difference. Join us and help bring the story of Fishbourne Roman Palace & Gardens to life for generations to come.
