School workshops now available – book a school visit

School workshops and trips to historic sites in Sussex are now easier to book via the new Learning section of the Sussex Past website.

Looking for school workshops at museums in Sussex? Thousands of school pupils each year visit the historic properties operated by Sussex Past, the trading arm of The Sussex Archaeological Society.

To make it easier and quicker for teachers to book school history visits to our sites, we have created a new Learning section on our website.

This lists the workshops created and run by our award-winning Learning team. They are designed to support key areas of the National Curriculum. Sessions are available for Key Stage One through to Key Stage Five.

Sites and topics offered by our registered charity include:

Fishbourne Roman Palace near Chichester – topics include Roman history, Archaeology, Science and Maths

Lewes Castle & Museum of Sussex Archaeology  – topics include Prehistory, Castles, Anglo-Saxons, Archaeology and Normans

Anne of Cleves House in Lewes  – topics include Tudors and Domestic Life

Michelham Priory, near Eastbourne – topics include Prehistory, Medieval, Tudors and World War Two
