Our Trustees – Sarah Watson
Sarah Watson is an experienced professional with a passion for history, archaeology, and the preservation of heritage. With a degree in archaeology and religion, Sarah has worked across sectors over the past 26 years building skills, knowledge, and experience in managing organisations through change. This background has provided her with a broad range of skills and knowledge in areas such as economic development, regeneration, tourism and events, education, and business development. At a senior level, Sarah has been instrumental in leading change management programs that have resulted in the successful turnaround of services and commercial activities. Having transitioned to the charity sector three years ago during Covid as the COO for Age UK West Sussex, Brighton and Hove, Sarah understands the challenges faced by organisations in times of crisis and is focused on enhancing business resilience and establishing sustainability and growth in a post-pandemic era. Driven by a strong passion for how our history and knowledge of the past can shape our future, Sarah is committed to making education and access to history, tools for building inclusive communities and improving lives. Sarah was a member of the Society whilst a student in the 1990s and is dedicated to securing the Society’s future. Sarah lives locally with her family and loves spending time outdoors or on the water with her family and dog, travelling, and exploring places of interest. |
