He has nearly 30 years’ experience in the heritage and cultural sector, including senior leadership roles as Director of Painshill Park Trust, where he led a major organisational turnaround and growth in visitors and revenue; at the Mary Rose Trust, contributing to the launch of the new museum; and with English Heritage, overseeing a portfolio of historic sites and public programmes.

Paul has served as Vice Chair of the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, and as a trustee and advisor to a range of cultural and visitor attraction charities. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Southampton Solent University in recognition of his contribution to Heritage, Tourism and Conservation.
