Jane Hodgkins is a dynamic and forward thinking strategist working within the heritage, arts, charity and tourism sectors, with a focus on Event/Exhibition Management, Strategic Partnership Development and Marketing & Communications.

Having spent most of her career in marketing and communication roles, working at board and senior level management, Jane has lead and directed coherent marketing strategies for multiple and individual brands.

For 14 years, as Head of Marketing and Communications for the Royal Navy’s multiple Museums across the UK, Jane was responsible for creating, monitoring and delivering marketing strategies which maximised business awareness and public engagement to achieve positive brand authority, influence and revenue generation. Now the National Museums of the Royal Navy are ranked 5th in the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA) outside of London.

Prior to that Jane worked with local and regional authorities to deliver economic development and tourism regeneration programs to build inward investment, revenue spend in tourism, hospitality and retail, footfall and brand awareness.

Jane has also spent 5 years in the arts industry. Having graduate with a History of Art and Architecture degree and a Business Management Degree, Jane worked in London for many years as an art dealer in Covent Garden and at the Business Design Centre.  Currently Jane works in an Art  Gallery where she liaises with artists, creatives and clients on a range of projects and acquisitions.  More recently, Jane has joined the team at Portsmouth Creates where she is delivering innovative, creative-led and impactful initiatives that bring together, galvanise and connect the ‘cultural community’. Her focus is on pioneering a cultural-led regeneration, enabling Portsmouth to become revered as a city of creativity and culture.

Jane is a practising Justice of the Peace, (Magistrate) for over 12 years and regularly works in the criminal adult courts in Portsmouth.
