Spring Talk: Sam Joy

The Young Archaeologists Club: Bringing Young People and the Past Together

Sam Joy is one of the organisers of the successful Chichester Young Archaeologist Club, in the talk she reflects on how they came to set up the club, the important impact it makes on young people’s lives and how rewarding it is to run. She will discuss the types of activities the YAC get involved in and all of the admin and support that is needed to make it all happen.

More about the speaker

Sam has been a commercial insurance underwriter for over 37 years and never really knew what career she really wanted.  She studied archaeology at night school in her 30’s and then joined Chichester and District Archaeology Society about 20 years ago. Her favourite work is documentary research and being out in the fresh air chatting to the public on digs and with the young archaeologists.
