For one day only, Fishbourne Roman Palace is opening up its artefact store, giving you a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes, and the chance to meet a wide range of experts from a huge variety of organisations and specialisms.

You’ll be able to meet conservators, marine archaeologists, field archaeologists, finds specialists and much more. As well as chatting about some of the latest research, you’ll be able to find out about recent excavations in the area and different scientific analyses. There will be the chance to get hands-on with artefacts, have a go, and take part in craft activities.

Suitable for all ages, this informal drop-in day requires no booking and is free of charge (does not include admission to Fishbourne Roman Palace. If you’d like to visit the Palace, please book tickets here or upon arrival.
