Augustinian History Days at Michelham Priory House & Gardens

Discover the rich heritage of Michelham Priory during our Augustinian History Days, exploring the lives and legacy of the Augustinian canons who lived here for over 300 years

From 10am to 4pm each day, visitors are invited to take part in a series of guided tours and family-friendly activities included within general admission.

A Canon’s Life at Michelham Priory – Guided Tours

Step back in time and discover what life was like for the Augustinian canons who lived and worked at Michelham Priory.

Tour times:

11am – Main House
A Canon’s Life at Michelham Priory

12pm – Church Site
A special visit to the historic site of the Priory Church to celebrate the lives of the canons who served here for over 300 years. All known names will be read aloud at the east end of the church outline, where the altar once stood.

2pm – Main House
A Canon’s Life at Michelham Priory

3pm – Main House
A Canon’s Life at Michelham Priory

The same programme of tours will run on both Saturday and Sunday.

Family Trail: Find the Canons

Younger visitors can also take part in a fun interactive trail around the site. Twenty specially designed markers featuring depictions of the canons will be hidden around the house and grounds. Children are invited to see how many they can find as they explore the Priory.

Tours are included with general admission which is £7.50 for children, £14 for seniors and £15 for adults. Discounted family packages are available. Under 5s go free.
