It’s time to pack your Baroque bags, and join Consonus Baroque and Sussex Past on a magical musical tour of 18th Century Europe!

Setting off from London, we will start our journey with the very English Baroque style of Thomas Arne, before travelling by sail boat and stagecoach to Paris. Here we will hear the brilliance and wit of Guillemain’s 3rd Quartet, a piece brimming with style and panache.

As we make our way around Europe, we will hear the differing fashions of music that spoke of the colourfully varied cultures of the time. After basking in the heat of Italy with Vivaldi, we will start to head back home, finishing with
a return to England to hear the splendour of Handel, the German-born genius who made London his home and became a British subject in 1727.

With no passports required, nor borders to slow our pace, this varied and exciting concert will delight and surprise in equal measure.

Enjoy the enchanting sounds of times gone by amidst the historic setting of the Elizabethan Great Barn at Michelham Priory House & Gardens.

Doors open at 6.30pm with a selection of wine, beer and soft drinks on offer.
