Michelham Priory – A Breathtaking Historic Wedding Venue in Sussex
Elizabethan barn and seven acres of glorious grounds

Imagine a historic Tudor mansion set amidst seven glorious acres of grounds tucked away behind a medieval gatehouse and moat

In a stunning part of the East Sussex countryside, lies the beautiful Michelham Priory. A secluded medieval island complete with an Elizabethan barn, perfect for wedding ceremonies and receptions.

The barn has a spectacular vaulted, beamed ceiling filled with fairy lights, a bar and both a courtyard garden at the front and private walled garden, perfect for lawn games and watching the sun set over the moat.

The extensive grounds on the estate include a kitchen, physic and medieval herb garden, orchard, formal and informal lawns and wilder areas rich in biodiversity.

Michelham Priory has a wedding licence for civil ceremonies allowing couples to choose from a range of locations from the Priory Chamber, in the Tudor house itself, the Elizabethan Great Barn or even on the lawns for an alfresco affair.

Testimonial

“A big thank you to everybody that helped make our wedding day at Michelham Priory an absolutely fantastic day and one we will treasure forever. The food was divine and the day ran so smoothly. Every single guest commented on how lovely your venue was and the great service and friendliness of the staff. We were both sad to leave on Sunday having spent two days at Michelham Priory. Thank you all again.”  – Mr & Mrs C
