Michelham Priory is a remarkable historic site with over 800 years of heritage, set on a tranquil moated island in the Sussex countryside. Originally founded as an Augustinian priory in the 13th century, it has since evolved through centuries of change – from Tudor residence to World War II refuge – and today stands as one of Sussex’s most significant heritage attractions.

Volunteering at Michelham Priory is a chance to be part of an active team, gain experience in a heritage environment, and contribute directly to the preservation and enjoyment of this exceptional place.

We’re looking for volunteers to help us maintain and enhance the visitor experience. Whether you’re interested in heritage, enjoy meeting people, or like working with your hands, there are a number of ways to get involved.
