FSLtd also provides small project support to Brighton & Hove City Council, largely around Town Centre Management initiatives.

As well as this he is a visiting lecturer for the University of Brighton and sits on a number of boards and committees including:

– Chair of the Brighton & Hove Destination Experience Group
– Advisory Board Member for British BIDs
– Co-Chair of the UK Coastal BIDs Group
– CEO of Brilliant Brighton (the city’s Business Improvement District)
– Executive Director for the Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership
– Brighton & Hove Business Crime Reduction Partnership

He has a first degree in Archaeology from the University of Glasgow and a Post Graduate Diploma in Arts and Heritage Management from the University of Sheffield. He has worked in the past as a field archaeologist for GUARD (Glasgow University Archaeological Research division) and has also held the position of Assistant Curator at Horsham Museum.

Gavin says. “Heritage has been a passion of mine since I was a small child. Show me a stone circle, long barrow or Iron Age Round House and I’m in heaven. It is a real privilege to be given the opportunity to work with the chair and other trustees to help navigate Sussex Past into the modern, relevant heritage organisation can and will become.
