Join the Friends of Anne of Cleves House for a fascinating talk by Ian Gledhill on Transports of Delight

From trains on the pier to miniature railways and cliff lifts, the seaside has always provided fascinating and charming forms of transport to amuse holidaymakers. Some of these unique modes of travel have stood the test of time, while others have vanished into history. This engaging talk delves into the story of those that still survive today, as well as some of the weird and wonderful creations that have long since disappeared.

About the speaker

Ian Gledhill began his career as an engineer, designing extensions to the London Underground. However, most of his working life has been spent in the theatre, mainly in opera translation, musical theatre and pantomime. He has also worked in television, music publishing, travel and tourism. His talks are always very informative  – and highly entertaining.
