Standing tall and proud in the heart of Lewes is the stunning Norman ruin of Lewes Castle. Once a stronghold of William the Conqueror this imposing thousand-year-old castle with wonderful views of the South Downs tell tales of noble courtiers, chivalrous knights and courageous Countesses. Now a beautiful ruin the castle remains as iconic as ever in the old town of Lewes and is a unique place for meetings and events.
We host a variety of corporate events and private functions at Lewes Castle from corporate meetings and staff away days to wine and cheese tastings to product launches. Whatever your event we would love to host your day for you at Lewes Castle.
The Gun Garden at Lewes Castle is the perfect location for outdoor events for up to 100 people and if you would like shelter you are welcome to hire in your own marquee and furniture to suit your tastes.
The Pleasure Garden at the top of the Keep can be hired for smaller events and gatherings of up to 50 people. Hire of the Pleasure Garden includes the use of the Keep marquee in case of bad weather.
Both the Gun and Pleasure Garden are available for hire between April and October.
The Peter Drewett Education Resource Centre can be hired for one off corporate events or meetings anytime of the year. The centre seats 40 people and has audio visual equipment, easy access to power, a small kitchen and disabled toilet facilities. Hire of the centre includes free entry to the castle grounds and museum.
