A Fresh Coat of Paint for The Long Man of Wilmington

This month the Long Man of Wilmington has been undergoing some restoration and now the proud South Downs figure is gleaming white and much more prominent from the road. An incredible team of volunteers organised by James Neal, Head Gardener at Michelham Priory, climbed the steep slopes to give this historic figure a fresh coat of paint. Earlier this month the fencing also received the restoration treatment to try and deter walkers from climbing on the steep slopes the Long Man resides to prevent erosion.

A special thanks goes to all the volunteers that gave their time on this lovely sunny day.
