Children explore how jobs would have been done in a Tudor kitchen. We discuss where food came from, the diets of rich and poor and all children handle real Tudor artefacts. Children also join in with hands-on activities using fresh herbs from the garden.
All children dress up in costumes to act out the story of Henry VIII and his wives in a beautiful setting. We discuss local connections to people in the story.
This session takes place in a large timber-framed bedroom. Children explore building materials and furniture, fit wooden joints together and try wattling.
