About the Workshop: This 3 hour workshop is designed to give you all the basic techniques required to start you in the wonderful world of watercolour. This friendly and open class is ideal for those who have never tried or have some knowledge in the medium. Some of the subjects covered include, – colour mixing, wet-in-wet, layering washes, lifting out and brush techniques and will conclude with a finished painting of the Priory.
Materials: You are welcome to bring your own but you must include a pot for water, watercolour paper (A3 or 11’ x 14”) and at least the 3 colours listed in the starter pack https://www.artbypaulclark.co.uk/materials. Any further materials required can also be purchased on the day from Paul’s mobile shop.
About the Tutor: Paul Clark is a professional artist and published author who has been teaching watercolour painting and drawing techniques to adult learners for over 25 years at his own classes, workshops and demonstrations throughout Sussex.
Paul’s ethos on teaching, is that students learn better when working in a happy and relaxed atmosphere, so all his demonstrations are open and fun, with a great emphasis on all artistic techniques being demonstrated. Entrance to the house and grounds are included in your workshop price, so please feel free to explore after your workshop, maybe have lunch in our cafe and treat yourself to a gift in the Dovecote gift shop.
