The Martlet Sword and Morris Men (formed in 1953) dance throughout each summer in and around Chichester. They have also danced in most European Countries, and in well-known places such as the Royal Albert Hall.
One of their founder Members, Peter North, was the Engineering Assistant on site supervising the laying of the water main at the time of the discovery of Fishbourne Roman Palace 60 years ago. He and his wife Gilly are also celebrating their Diamond Anniversary this April and Peter will be dancing with the Martlets. At 88 years old he is one of England’s oldest active Morris Men.
