Join us for our first Spring Talk with James Kenny

We’re pleased to invite you to an evening of insightful with James Kenny, as  he reveals insights into the findings of the Priory Park Archaeology Project, a collaboration between Chichester District Council and the Chichester and District Archaeology Society. For the past eight years, this project has facilitated the investigation of significant Roman and medieval sites within the city.

This online talk will focus on the findings of the most recent excavations, which have revealed important medieval remains located to the north of the Guildhall. These discoveries build on prior achievements, such as the uncovering of a well-preserved Roman private bath-suite and its adjoining timber-framed townhouse.

About the speaker

James Kenny was educated in Chichester and at Newcastle University. He has worked professionally in archaeology since 1983, initially for West Sussex County Council and then for Chichester District Council’s Archaeology Unit and its successor Southern Archaeology. Since 1998 he has been employed as Chichester District Council’s Archaeology Officer, mainly advising on development control. He has directed the investigation of archaeological sites of all periods, mainly in the western part of West Sussex. He is the current President of Chichester and District Archaeology Society.
