SISATA Theatre Company presents Othello at Lewes Castle
Friday 7th, Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th July, 6.30pm

Othello Primary

Come and watch this Shakespearean masterpiece under the stars this Summer in the gorgeous setting of the Gun Garden at Lewes Castle, brought to you by SISATA Theatre.

Set against a backdrop of the 1980s, Hip Hop culture and inspired by the life and work of artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. In a fast-paced telling of jealousy, love and ambition, four actors play multiple roles in this masterful debate on the human condition.

This production really creates a whole new colourful world for the play, which I believe makes the issues in Shakespeare’s tragedy really resonate with an audience today. It also highlights the political parallels between now and the 1980s.” – Charmaine K Parkin, Director
