Language of Rome

This event has passed.

A little Latin is needed for this two day course – a perfect follow on from the Latin for Beginners course.

On the first day we visit Rome in the early days, covering legendary figures, such as Hannibal, Caesar and Mark Antony.  On the second day we explore Imperial Rome and the lives of people in Rome and the provinces.

This course combines history, language and the words of the classical authors, to create a fascinating picture of life around 2,000 years ago.

This enjoyable and informative weekend course for adults will be led by George Sharpley from The Latin Qvarter.  The course is ideal for those interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the history of Rome through the language.  The whistlestop tour slows down at regular intervals to a much gentleboys head cropped - Copyr pace in order to read short selections of Latin written by the classical authors.

£90 per person.  Includes tea & coffee, all materials and entry to the Roman Palace.  To book your place, please telephone 01243 785859 or email palacebookings@sussexpast.co.uk
