Jim Maloney Reading & Talk at Michelham Priory

We are delighted to announce local author Jim Maloney will be coming to Michelham Priory on Saturday 16th December at 2pm to read from and talk about his beloved book The Sisters of Battle Road.

The Sisters of Battle Road is an extraordinary true story of six sisters evacuated from war time to London to the local town of Hailsham three miles from Michelham Priory. The six sisters Mary, Joan, Sheila, Kath, Pat and Anne all stayed with Jim’s grandparents Pierce and Annie in their Hailsham home in Battle Road.

The Sun writes Jim Maloney’s work is a ‘stunning book’ and the Daily Mail describes the the story as ‘a tail of survival.’

The reading  will be in the Elizabethan Barn on Saturday 16th December starting at 2pm. Light refreshments will be available and the barn bar will be open before the talk begins. Tickets cost £9.40 and include access to the house and grounds. So why not arrive early and explore the site dressed for a war time Christmas, leaving time to visit our world war two gallery and the evacuees bedroom in the Priory mansion.

We cannot wait to welcome you to what promises to be a wonderful talk and glimpse into the past.
