Join us at Marlipins Museum on Saturday 14th June for a special historical event featuring the Greensand Rangers, a renowned group of medieval reenactors. In celebration of Marlipins Museum’s centenary year, the Rangers will bring the 11th century to life, offering fascinating insights into the daily experiences of soldiers in the aftermath of the Norman Conquest.

Discover how New Shoreham emerged as a thriving Norman port, trading goods like figs, grapes, wax, wool, timber, woad, and cloth by the 12th century.

Explore the remarkable Marlipins building itself – believed to be the oldest surviving secular structure in Sussex. Built during the height of Norman influence, this unique medieval townhouse once served both commercial and domestic purposes, and stands today as a rare window into the region’s rich past.
