New CEO for the Society
We are pleased to announce that the Trustees of the Society have appointed Tristan Bareham as the new CEO of the organisation.

We are pleased to announce that the Trustees of the Society have appointed Tristan Bareham as the new CEO of the organisation.

Tristan, who has been leading The East Sussex Archaeology and Museums Partnership (ESAMP - based in Anne of Cleves House, Lewes) since 1984, already has a very good grasp and knowledge of the Society. Not only are ESAMP's offices within a Society building, but he also constructed the popular Iron Age Centre at Michelham Priory, and regularly runs courses there. In addition, one or two of our current Lewes staff came through the ranks of ESAMP, benefitting from its museum-based training, before landing a job with the Society.

We are sure Tristan will bring considerable vision, allied with first class management skills, to bear on the future direction of the Society. He is an excellent educator with an outstanding grasp of the heritage sector. He is a great communicator to all ages, an able and fair negotiator, and comes with a commendable track record in getting grants and sponsorships.

Outgoing CEO John Manley said 'I am very grateful to the Society and its Trustees during my time as CEO. I will be working closely with Tristan during the handover. Tristan has my total support and I wish him well in the job'.

Tristan will become the new CEO formally on Monday October 4th.
